Suppose a cricket stream shows Side A at 96/3 after twelve overs. That is 96 runs, three wickets down at that moment. If the side finishes on 158, the completed innings total is 158, not 96.
A video frame of a boundary does not establish the final innings figure before the scoreboard and event record account for it. Keep the innings and over with each live number.
Playback may buffer while play continues. Conversely a static score may reflect a real pause. A frozen frame alone cannot tell which happened. Use the surrounding match status and timestamps to separate technical delay from an interruption.
When comparing a stream with a separate scorecard, check both timestamps and the named innings. If they refer to different moments, a boundary on one screen may already be counted on the other. Reloading the video does not restart the match.
Side A's innings total can be complete before the match winner is known. Side B may still chase 159. A lead in the first innings is therefore not a final match result.
The same discipline transfers to other sports: a basketball quarter lead, tennis set or race position is not necessarily the final event result. Identify the completed unit before summarizing an outcome.
